In addition to focusing on the food, Chartwells has updated the look of each elementary school serving areas by adding decorative yet nutritionally educational items wherever possible. The messengers of this nutritional information are Chartwells’ Pyramid Pete and his Creature friends. 

Pete and the Creatures represent the food pyramid and all the food groups. These groups of nutritional mascots look like dinosaurs with a twist; each one has a food item from the food group they represent.  They are all bright, colorful creatures that attract students’ attention and teach them not only about the food groups but also about healthy eating and living. We will work to create an environment that will be visually exciting for our young students as they enter and walk through the serving area. We will be implementing Chartwells elementary nutrition education program called “Creature Beginnings”.

Pyramid Pete & Creatures “Fun Lunch Box” Program is Chartwells innovative lunch-able program. This program features cute cold lunches in decorative boxes that were developed to create excitement in your elementary school lunch program.

The four box lunches are as follows:

• Dairy Dactyl Fun Lunch
• Pete’s Pizza Bagel Fun Lunch
• Bread Beak Bagel Fun Lunch
• Nacho Fun Lunch with Vegetarius Salsa

Three food components are packaged in each box lunch. In order to offer a full, nutritionally balanced meal, each student may select a choice of fruit and a choice of milk with each box lunch.
